Lyric Poem Summary: Needs to be typed and a page in length. In the write-up, tell me what line you borrowed from a song. Why did you choose that line? Which poetic device is the lyric line an example of? Which point of view is the poem written from? How did you make this evident in your poem (use of diction; imagery; structure; etc.). What are the four poetic devices that you incorporated in your poem? There should be a specific mood/tone in your poem. What is the mood/tone? How did you try and create a specific mood/tone?

Welcome to your 2015-2016 English class! Throughout this class we will explore various forms of literature and read works from some of the greatest writers the world has ever known. During this class we will dissect different forms of writing, such as: poetry, novels, plays, short stories, memoirs and more. I try to create a very interactive and hands-on learning environment for each student for that he/she can be an active learner in the classroom. I am looking forward to collaborating, expanding, and even learning from you as a student during this school year.
